2 years ago today I found my best buddy. At the time my heart and soul were breaking into a million pieces. I needed a friend and Catdog generally refuses to do anything dog-like. I checked out Chihuahua rescues and found this long and low fella in need of a home. When I met Larry, his foster dad picked him and plopped him in my arms immediately. I had no idea what to expect from this new dog. He was completely chill so together we left. Liz LaChapelle was non-plussed that I had brought home yet another rescue animal. Two days later I overheard her telling the kids she was ordering clothes for “Baby Larry”. Didn’t take long. 😎
In the months that followed, Larry and I traveled across the country and back. There were moments I found myself far from home and too broken to move. Larry stuck to me like glue. I can remember bombing down a mountain in Arizona trying to see through my tears at 85 mph, while I screamed to Larry that we were going to be OK. When I was so depressed I couldn’t get off the floor, Larry laid on top of me never leaving my side. On one hand I feel vulnerable having been so dependent on my stinky little friend. On the other hand I believe the universe only sends you what you need and I really needed Larry. 🥰
